FREYA’S CUSTOM GOWN NO.6

October 10, 2017 By admin Leave a Comment

Words cannot describe the pride and honour I feel when I see a bride dressed in Tegan Asha for their special day. This particular bride is no exception, as we spent months meeting over fittings and developing a beautiful friendship along with her gorgeous mum, sister and two other bridesmaids.

Freya wore custom Gown No.6 in beaded French lace, and she also wore a French silk tulle veil in double thickness. Her bridesmaids wore Zimmermann, customized with a little scalloped piece of beaded French lace matching Freya’s gown.

The beauty of this gown is that it features a train but can also bustle up to the last button for easy movement and to protect the fabric from harsh surfaces.

These stunning images are courtesy of Adam Cavanagh.

Congratulations Freya and Paul, I wish you a long and happy marriage.

REAL BRIDE WORE GOWN NO. 7

October 7, 2017 By admin Leave a Comment

I had the incredible honour of dressing my dear friend, Ali Wanchap for her wedding and was lucky enough to share in their special day at her family property in Hunchy, in Queensland’s hinterland at the weekend.

The process included many day trips to Sydney to work with my pattern makers, getting the fit just right. It truly was part of the journey that made the outcome so wonderful, and to see Ali marry Drew wearing TEGAN ASHA made me prouder than I could have imagined.

Witnessing Ali style Gown No. 7 with simple hair, minimal jewellery and spectacular red velvet and gold Jimmy Choos bought the whole look together, making it unique to her aesthetic and the look and feel of the wedding. That’s the beauty of ready to wear gowns, the styling process is organically worked in side-by-side with the design process.

Gown No. 7 developed out of a combination of Gown No. 3 and the lace from Gown No. 6. The trim was added to give it an extra element, and the deep V at the back along with transparent lace only increases the modernity of this gown that finely balances between classic vintage style and modern elegance.

Ali couldn’t have been a more beautiful bride to debut this style, and I will forever feel humbled by her gracious compliments on the feel and comfort of wearing TEGAN ASHA.

BRIDAL DIARY

Kade is a stunning bride who wore Gown No. 1 on a gorgeous Saturday in January, 2014 in New Zealand. She married the love of her life and couldn’t be happier.

“I felt so beautiful in my TEGAN ASHA gown, thank you Tegan.”

Kade encapsulated the modern elegance and grace that I envisage when I’m designing. I couldn’t be more proud of the moment I saw her in her TEGAN ASHA bridal gown.
